Dr. Anna Novials
Endocrinologist
The leader of the group, Dr. Anna Novials, is an endocrinologist at IDIBAPS-Hospital Clinic de Barcelona. In 2008, she rejoined the IDIBAPS as Director of the Diabetes and Obesity Research Laboratory as leader of a clinical and basic research team. Since 2010, she has served as an Executive Committee member of the Spanish Biomedical Research Centre in Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Disorders (CIBERDEM), Council member of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (2012-2015), and President of the Spanish Diabetes Society (2017-2020).
Throughout her career, Dr. Novials has promoted and led important initiatives bridging basic and clinical research in the field of diabetes, without ever abandoning her duty to patients as a practicing healthcare professional.
